We're Dog-Lovin’, Whole-Food Makin’ Humans
We’re passionate about bringing your pups the highest quality nutrition.
The Barkin' Creek Story
Our story begins in the fall of 2015, when we realized our beloved rescue pups Bea and Jax were suffering from health issues. We knew we needed specialized dog food, but soon realized that healthy solutions were hard to come by. Most dry dog food, we learned, is mass-produced by a handful of large corporations motivated by profit, rather than the welfare of animals. Governed by lax regulators, these corporate giants supplement their food with excessive amounts of salt, sugar, animal by-products, and preservatives designed to increase shelf life. Conscientious dog parents like ourselves are bombarded with a glut of poor-quality products rigorously advertised to comfort us into blissful ignorance.
We now know the poor nutritional content of most dry dog food has serious consequences for canine health and wellbeing. Malnutrition, allergic reactions, toxicity, obesity, reduced lifespan, and even premature death can result from consumption of these products.
Barkin’ Creek Dog Kitchen was born out of the desire to provide better dietary alternatives for Bea and Jax. We started in our own kitchen, creating meals from wholesome locally sourced ingredients we would gladly serve to our human family. We even added the right balance of supplements to ensure our dogs’ nutritional needs were met.
As we watched our babies’ health improve, we decided to bring the same level of quality to dogs everywhere. We’re still making fresh meals and snacks daily in our kitchen, where we welcome visitors to observe and learn about our completely transparent preparation methods. As long as there are pups to feed, we’ll keep on cookin’.

Born and raised in the Texas Hill Country, Jess earned her BFA at TCU, after which she fell in love with the world of pet care. She was drawn into the hospitality industry for over 10 years, but in 2018, BCDK made her an offer she couldn’t refuse: the opportunity to combine her love of customer service with her passion for animals. Jess loves caring for pups and providing their parents with knowledge and tools to support their babies’ health. She finds joy in promoting an environment in which employees and customers feel at home.
